Week 9 recap
Close calls for the two popular picks this week. Da Bears lost Orton but Grossman led them back to win in overtime. The Bucs kept turning the ball over but somehow won in overtime after a weird third-down series.
Texas Tech will not survive both Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
Noone wants to win the NFC West. Well, maybe the Cards, they’re the only team in the division with a winning streak. (A 1-game winning streak counts, right?)
None of the teams in the two East divisions have a record below 0.500. Only one team in the two West divisions have a record above 0.500 (the aforementioned Cards). Hmmm.
The Lions are now the only winless team in the NFL, after the Bungles got their first win by knocking off the Jags and knocking off 4 more players in our pool.
Florida is better than Alabama. Alabama’s wins over Clemson and Georgia are looking worse week after week.
Another Denver loss knocked off 1 more.
We are now down to 32 players left after nine weeks, still the most left standing at the same point compared to previous years. There were 25 players after week nine last year.
Of the 32 players left, 5 of them are from participants that have won in previous years. 3 of the 5 eliminated this week also fell in that category.
The NFC East teams are still by far the most popular division to pick from, being picked 200 times through nine weeks. Second is the AFC East with 131.
A reminder for this week: There is a Thursday night game between Broncos and the Browns, so if you want to pick that game, I must have your pick by Thursday evening at 5pm ET. All other picks are due Sunday at 10am ET. These deadlines apply for the next three weeks.
